Thursday, August 14, 2003
4-6 pm Release of Putney:World's Best Known Small Town
Book Reception at Heartstone Books.
7-10 pm Gala Evening "Kick-Off"
An evening of dinner and dancing at the Putney Inn. Live music with Peter Tavalin, Katie Graves, Sean Pentland, and Hayden Lake. Swing lessons provided by Nancy Gagnon and Bob Burch. Tickets $15. Advance tickets may be purchased before August 12th at the Putney Inn or Town Hall for $12.

Friday, August 15, 2003
6:30 pm Family Entertainment at the new Putney Public Library site
Peter Gould performs "For the Love of Pie." A variety of pies and lemonade will be served after the show. This family event is free, and everyone is invited to walk the "footprint" of the new building, which will be marked and signed.
7 pm Reception- Kathan Family Reunion at The United Church of Putney.
7-10 pm Teen Dance
Ben Blomgren as DJ at the Putney Community Center.
8 pm Captain John Kathan and Family: First English Settlers
Presentation by Boardman Kathan at The United Church of Putney. Open to the public.

10 am Parade- A parade through the center of Putney village
12:00 Parade Finale- What Sheep Doo
Located in the outdoor amphitheater behind Sandglass Theater on Kimball Hill Road.
12:30-5 pm An afternoon of food, exhibits and entertainment

Highlights Include:
New exhibit of the History of Agriculture in Putney
Sugar on Snow provided by Harlow's Sugar House
Demonstrations of Carving, Spinning and Weaving, Bee Keeping, Crafts Exhibits
Silent Movie Comedy Shorts with live, improvised music by Peter Tavalin
Art Exhibit from the Artist in Each of Us senior workshops
Gone to the Dogs with Honey Loring
Celebration of Human Rights in Words and Songs at the United Church of Putney
Thwing Mill Tours
Cemetery Tours
Horse and Carriage Rides

8-10 pm Square Dancing on the Common
Tent dance in the upper parking lot of the Putney Tavern. Square Dancing with Fred Breunig, Amy Cann, & Friends
